Altered expressions of genes associated with amino acid transport. The mRNA expression of SNAT2 (A), LAT1 (B), LAT4 (C) and associated glycoprotein CD98hc (D) was measured in primary human myotubes incubated with and without the presence of leucine (Leu; 5 mM), insulin (Ins; 100 nM) or co-treated with leucine and insulin (Leu + Ins) for periods indicated. Expression was detected by semi-quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) using specific oligonucleotide primers.
