Relative current amplitude of currents produced by Cav2.3 (filled circles) channels alone and in combination with SmCavβ (open circles) plotted as a function of time in the presence of 5 mM Na2+-ATP in the patch-pipette solution (A), 5 mM Tris2-ATP (B), and using a "minimal" pipette solution, with no ATP (C). Currents were normalized with respect to those measured immediately after rupturing the patch membrane (t = 0). Panels D1 and D2 show current amplitude produced by Cav2.3/SmCavβ2a channels as a function of time for all conditions explained above. Symbols are as shown on the figure. Values are means ± s.e.m, N = 3 – 8.
