The average response of the 8 animals is shown in Figure 1C. The time course of the change in dietary salt between low (0.7%) and high (4%) levels is shown in blue at the base of the graph. The upward trend in MAP over the course of the intermittent salt exposure was significant, amounting to 9.6 ± 1.9 mmHg (P < 0.01).
