Response to food deprivation. Food was withdrawn from young rats at 8:00 h. Animals were then sacrificed at the indicated time points over a six hour period (n=6 at each time). The experiment was conducted over three days. Rats for the different time points were randomly included on each day. Epididymal adipose tissue and blood were taken for analyses and the stomach with its content was cut out and weighed.
