Quantification of contractile proteins in mesenteric artery and vein illustrated with actin. Panel A: Image of a Western blot depicting immunoreactive bands of actin standards. Band densities were assayed by scanning densitometry and were plotted against the respective amount of actin (Panel B). The linear relationship was used to calculate the amounts of actin in arterial and venous total tissue extracts. Tissue protein was separated by SDS-PAGE and actin was visualized by Western analysis, using a polyclonal anti-α-actin antibody (Panel C).
