Distribution of bovine LPL in livers at different times after injection, and the effect of heparin. Tissue sections were stained with the rabbit polyclonal anti-LPL IgG and then with goat anti-rabbit IgG labelled with Alexa fluor 488 (green). Panels A, C and E are from rats that did not receive heparin. Panels B, D and F are from rats that had been given heparin five min before the injection of active bovine LPL. Panels A and B are two min, panels C and D are 15 min, and panels E and F are 60 min after injection of the lipase. The inset in panel E shows a section from the liver of a rat that was not injected with bovine LPL. The magnification was Ă— 20.
